Jamaican Culinary Adventure
Taste the flavors of Jamaica during your foodie tour and delight your taste buds and your tummy with authentic, traditional Jamaican style foods.  Be prepared to display a sense of adventure during your contemporary food-tasting dinners at Scotchie's, famous for its local lunch servings of Jerk pork and fried cornmeal dumplings.  Dinner at Groovy Grouper is said to be out of this world with its scrumptious escoveitched fish.  Enjoy a series of cooking classes designed to highlight the local cuisine, and stay in exotic tropical accommodations at a former converted sugar plantation.

Get to know the pulse of the Island as we take a countryside tour where we will explore the real Jamaica and learn about the island culture as we travel along various sections of the country.  We’ll visit a local Jamaican pottery factory and see the talents of local artists as they create unique and beautiful works of art that showcase the island’s rich heritage and culture.  We will also Visit the town of Portland - the birth place of Jerk…and enjoy a Luxurious catamaran cruise along the coast of the island.  Mix in a visit to the Rum distillery, farmers market and coffee farm…and you have the perfect Caribbean culinary holiday.

We will be staying at the Tryall Club Villa, an exclusive gated Island villa resort approximately 12 miles west of Montego Bay. The Club, a former sugar plantation, consists of 2,200 acres of land which has been owned by the same family for over a century. It is an area of scenic beauty fronting one and a half miles of sea, with a wide variety of beautiful trees. Flint River fed by the springs from the mountains runs through the plantation for some four miles. The Club boasts a private beach, with shimmering white sand surrounded by the turquoise Caribbean Sea. A majestic great house and tropical villas overlook the velvety green fairway of the club's 18-hole championship golf course.

We will be touring the Island of Jamaica and discovering its unique culinary repertoire. Enjoy the day at the Appleton Estate Rum Distillery. Spend the day learning the art of Rum making, through seeing, smelling and tasting. See how sugar cane is converted into rum. We will be able to purchase samples, which we will incorporate into some dishes for our next cooking lesson.

Learn the art of making tropical desserts, and cocktails using the rum we brought from our distillery tour. Our pastry chef will teach you how to make mango cake, rum fruit cake, coconut pudding, coconut drops, Jamaican mousse and cassava pone to name just a few. Later in the afternoon you will enjoy a luxurious catamaran cruise along the coast of the Island.
