Tour of the Historic Carmel Estate and Lunch

The Tour begins with a brief look at Port of Spain and city highlights. Then journey across the Maraval Valley to Carmel Valley Estate, sited on the northern fringes of the St Andrew’s Golf Course. Once considered a true prize for the early French settlers to the island, this is the last active cocoa estate. Here you will be introduced to cocoa cultivation and preparation, rabbit farming and Carmel Honey, which has won the London International Honey Show and Trinidad Honey Show Awards many times. Make your way to the main house and imagine yourself as a Colonial Settler as you enjoy local cocoa tea (chocolate), a slice of Mt Carmel’s Cake and fresh juices on the veranda. You will return to Port of Spain for a festive lunch at a small Creole Restaurant run by two unforgettable Trini Celebrity sisters.

Your second session of cooking classes will focus on the unique East Indian cuisine of Trinidad and Tobago followed by lunch with piped local music and a special tasting of popular island beverages.

After Dark Street Food Experience

This is your opportunity to immerse yourself in Trinidad’s diverse cultural heritage. You visit a pan yard to listen to a steel band practice and see the top players fill the air with sounds of some of the great masters such as Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and our own Soca Music. Depending on the season, you may witness a local seasonal street festival and you will experience true Trini Street Food as it happens on the streets. It will be a roving dinner with appetizers, starters, main course and desert by various street food chefs.

Cooking Classes Finale

Your final evening will be the Celebrity Chef Finale. Your third cooking session will feature one of Trinidad’s Local Celebrity Chefs and will focus on Trini Finger Food that promises to make you the envy of your family and friends. Following the session you will have an opportunity to sample these exotic culinary delights yourself.

Visit Trinidad’s sister island of Tobago, which is a 20 minute flight away. Tobago is famous for its Eco and Marine Parks, quiet coves and beaches. Your host will be happy to assist with arrangements to help make your stay perfect. If you would like this optional day, just let us know if you would like this option by including a notation in the comments section of your reservation. You would still choose 6 days, 5 nights, but we would add your additional day(s) as an extension to your primary reservation.
